Marcos graduated from Middlesex University in 2005 with a first class honours BSc, having received a first-year scholarship, the Herb Society's national 'Best Third Year Student' prize and the Elsevier prize for Herbal Pharmacy. After interning at a complementary clinic in King's Cross from 2004-2007, he practiced from Neal’s Yard Remedies in Covent Garden and Notting Hill until 2016. Between 2013-18 Marcos became the lead clinical supervisor and trainer on Middlesex University's herbal medicine BSc & MSc courses.
Marcos is also a student of renaissance and classical astrological techniques and has lectured and taught traditional astrology internationally. He is a faculty member of the Academy of Astrology, and an affiliate tutor of the QHP (Qualified Horary Practitioner) school in the UK. He has just completed his first book, The Secret Life of Chocolate, on the medical history and usage of Cacao, due for release in 2020.
